Position Overview As a UI Artist II, you will create visually appealing and functional game UI elements, such as HUDs, menus, and iconography. You’ll design wireframes and mockups to communicate interaction concepts and ensure high‑quality assets are delivered, following project standards. Identifying and resolving visual challenges, you’ll implement designs in the game engine, transforming prototypes into polished final products. Collaboration with the UI team and designers is key to maintaining consistent art styles and effectively conveying game information. Staying updated on UI trends and techniques, you’ll provide feedback and contribute to a positive studio culture. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Demonstrate a proficient understanding of UI art fundamentals. Conceptualise and design game UI including HUD and GUI elements, menus & iconography. Understand and create UX wireframes & mockups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Create high‑quality assets and always apply established project naming conventions and standards. Act independently at a high working speed and efficiency. Use current industry‑standard software for asset creation and implementation at a proficient level. Identify and solve current visual problems with little guidance. Have foresight into visual conflicts or considerations. Implement ideas in the game engine from white‑box prototype to polished final product. Work within the UI team and provide guidance for the look/feel of key user‑interfaces and styles, engaging in all aspects of the design process to ensure a fitting and consistent art style. Work with designers to determine the functionality and features of the UI and ensure that game information is well conveyed. Constant research & interpretation of latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies. Provide detailed feedback to others and occasionally paint over. Specific Attributes, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Proficient skills in design and illustration software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or Sketch. Proficient knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and UI systems, including UMG (Unreal) or Canvas (Unity). Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines, from design to engineering, and contribute meaningfully to discussions about player experience and gameplay. Excellent understanding of UX/UI principles, including usability, player interaction, and information architecture. Ability to produce polished, detailed interface designs that balance functionality with visual appeal. Experience with motion graphics or animation for UI transitions and feedback. Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Blueprint, C#, or HTML) to help bridge the gap between UI art and in‑game implementation. Familiarity with conducting usability testing and gathering feedback to improve UI designs. Experience working on UI for various platforms (PC, console, mobile) and understanding the unique challenges of each. Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 + Super #J-18808-Ljbffr
