Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine (FACEM) Hunter New England Local Health District – Belmont Hospital, Lake Macquarie NSW. We are seeking an experienced Emergency Physician for a permanent or temporary role (0.25 FTE). About the Emergency Department Approximately 29,000 presentations annually, admission rate 14%. Multidisciplinary team: FACEMs, Career Medical Officers, Junior Medical Officers, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Aged Care Emergency Nurses, Technical Assistants, Administration, Health & Security Assistants. Liaison Psychiatry support on site; dedicated nurse educator team and simulation training. On‑site pathology and radiology (X‑ray & CT) until midnight, 7 days a week; overnight on‑call services. Accreditation with ACRRM for the ED AST year and ongoing ACEM certificate and diploma training. Your Role Lead clinical shifts alongside nurse in charge and multidisciplinary team. Provide direct patient care and clinical supervision. Support junior medical staff, Nurse Practitioners, and medical students in professional development. Ensure high‑quality, compassionate emergency care. Collaborate with John Hunter Hospital, the local Level 1 trauma and tertiary referral centre. Contribute to a positive team culture prioritising education, research, and work‑life balance. What You’ll Need Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) and registration with AHPRA. Recent, comprehensive experience in Emergency Medicine.
