Major Component Upgrade Lead Technician at GE Vernova Job Description Lead and assure that assigned Major Component Upgrade (MCU) operations are executed according to GE’s priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Deliver highest standards related to EHS, execution quality, on-time delivery, and cost optimization to meet customer expectations. Oversee complete operation and interface with all parties during MCU execution, and identify improvements in any SQDC area. Essential Responsibilities Lead at site and be responsible for all steps: preparation, coordination, execution, and reporting of each assigned MCU. Guide all parties involved to achieve highest EHS, quality, and cost standards; serve as technical advisor. Ensure all workers, including contractors, have proper qualifications and performance standards; advise when unsure. Partner with MCU PM, GE Service Teams, contractors, and other functions to deliver best-in-class MCU execution and address unexpected events. Proactively identify and address potential unplanned situations to keep the execution on track. Manage required documentation and provide internal reporting. Identify improvement ideas in SQDC and collaborate on new tools and methodologies to increase efficiency and safety. Review and provide feedback on MCU Work instructions (WDI) and support methods & process teams during creation or update of WDI related to MCU. Maintain compliance with statutory and GE internal EHS requirements. Operate the WTG required for MCU purposes as needed. Qualifications & Requirements At least 3 years of experience leading crane operations from end-to-end execution. At least 3 years in wind maintenance sector or other energy/industrial segments. High safety and quality mindset. Flexibility to travel >85% domestically and abroad; adjust working hours to operational windows. Fluent in English and another European language. Strong teamwork leader able to work in a dynamic, complex matrix environment; quick learning and ownership. High level leadership at site with safety and quality awareness; excellent in anticipating issues and driving solutions. Able to work at heights and maintain high physical fitness. Familiar with Wind Turbine Generator mechanical/electrical areas. Familiar with MSOffice and GE software tools. Ability to work independently. Class B driving license; AU Work Permit.
