Business Analyst - Digital Transformation BRYK Consulting is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major digital transformation initiative with one of our Government clients. This role will contribute directly to helping modernise knowledge management, uplift capability, and enable future AI‑supported information querying in the health sector. This is a unique opportunity to work on a project that underpins improved system resilience, stronger information management practices, and enhanced digital operations across large, complex government environments. About the Project This initiative focuses on establishing new processes, artefacts and governance structures to capture, manage and maintain critical system knowledge across data services environments. Core to the work is building a centralised, structured, searchable knowledge repository, consolidating fragmented technical knowledge, undocumented processes, architecture diagrams, and data flows. The work will directly support: Reduced institutional knowledge risk Standardised and repeatable operational processes Enhanced data architecture visibility Future enablement of natural language querying and AI‑driven insights Role Overview The Business Analyst will play a key role in capturing, analysing, documenting and translating complex business and technical knowledge into structured artefacts that support system modernisation and future interoperability. You will work closely with data services teams, technical SMEs, product owners and business stakeholders to define requirements, map processes, produce integration specifications, and support key project deliverables. Key Responsibilities Facilitate business and technical workshops; produce agendas, workbooks, slides and supporting materials. Document as‑is and to‑be business processes, system flows and operational procedures. Develop business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and mock‑ups. Produce a range of artefacts including process flows, data flow diagrams, data pipeline documentation, reference data processes, integration specifications, semantic mappings and security classifications. Capture and translate technical assets (metadata catalogues, SQL logic, data dictionaries) into business‑facing logic and structured knowledge content. Support the creation of a centralised knowledge repository and content catalogue. Work closely with development, architecture, and data teams to ensure alignment and traceability. Contribute to UAT preparation, solution walkthroughs and system showcases. Maintain detailed reporting including fortnightly progress updates. Ensure accurate creation of handover materials and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions. Highly Desirable Demonstrated experience delivering Agile business analysis/functional analysis services. Strong capability in documenting business requirements, functional designs and solution specifications using user stories, wireframes, mock‑ups and process flows. Skilled at stakeholder negotiation across business, technical teams and product owners. Proven ability to lead workshops, engage SMEs and drive outcomes. Experience with process re‑engineering, mapping as‑is/to‑be states, and producing detailed process flows. Strong experience producing System Integration Specifications and understanding data/system dependencies. Experience showcasing system solutions and supporting User Acceptance Testing. Background in data environments, metadata, or knowledge management initiatives (highly regarded). Why BRYK Consulting?
