We're looking for a strong Aboriginal leader who is passionate about helping children, young people, and families stay connected to culture, community, and Country. The Cultural Lead is a key leadership role that helps make sure our services respect and support the cultural identity, connections, and experiences of Aboriginal children, young people, and families. You'll work closely with the leadership and Cultural Engagement teams to make sure our care is culturally safe, trauma-informed, and guided by Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing. You will lead cultural planning within our Therapeutic Services, including the MIST program, which provides support to children affected by child sexual abuse, family and domestic violence, or other adverse childhood experiences. This program is delivered in partnership with the West Australian Police and the Department of Communities. In this role, you will work alongside our team for children and young people, empower staff to practice in culturally respectful ways, and foster strong partnerships with Aboriginal community organisations. Additionally, you will help create a culturally safe workplace and promote ongoing learning and growth throughout our organisation. About you This position is open to Aboriginal applicants only, as Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position. You bring a deep understanding of Aboriginal family structures, kinship systems, and the impacts of trauma, using this knowledge to guide culturally safe practice. You're confident leading Cultural consultation and collaborating with others to ensure culturally responsive care. You provide cultural guidance and mentoring to staff, build strong partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and are passionate about embedding Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing in everything you do.
