Overview Susquehanna has an opening for a Platform Services Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure services team. Susquehanna is a global quantitative trading firm founded with an entrepreneurial mindset and a rigorous analytical approach to decision making. We are leaders and innovators in high performance, low latency trading. Our traders, quants, developers, and systems engineers work side by side to develop and implement our trading strategies. The Platform Services team is an integral part of the Compute and Storage Platforms team and shares responsibility for supporting, building, and managing all servers and storage solutions that compose our trading and corporate infrastructure. Joining Platform Services is the first step in building an engineering career with Susquehanna. What You Can Expect From Us Exposure to platform technology: As part of the team, you will be exposed to senior engineers specializing in Windows, Linux, virtualization, storage, and open‑source technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, and Grafana. You will partner with engineers to learn the fundamentals of their spaces and help solve complex problems by supporting new environments, evaluating and creating new applications, performance tuning, automation, and configuration management. Work with Mentors: In each rotation, you will be paired with one or more mentors who guide your technical growth. Together you will tackle day‑to‑day BAU tasks, identify your interests, and work closely with other teams through design/white‑board sessions and project updates. Address and solve challenging technical problems: You will troubleshoot application, network, hardware, and other issues, learning and debating the best solutions. You will have the freedom to test and implement solutions at scale in our onsite labs of over 600 physical and virtual servers. Engage with new technology: Susquehanna continually evaluates new hardware and software to increase speed and performance. You may help test unavailable hardware, automate tasks and monitoring, or work on high‑performance clustered environments critical to quantitative trading. What We're Looking For BS or MS in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or a similar technical major. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a platform environment (Linux or Windows servers). Previous experience with monitoring/telemetry tools such as Grafana, Nagios, CheckMK, or similar. Experience with operating system management of Linux and/or Windows servers. Familiarity with basic network-level TCP/IP, kernel-level, and network-card functionalities. Exposure to scripting and automation workflows is helpful.
