About the Position The Project Engineer - Specialist is a pivotal technical leadership role focused on delivering high-quality hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations that directly support mine dewatering strategies and pit slope stability outcomes. Working across multiple large-scale mining projects, you will lead groundwater resource evaluation programmes, supervise drilling and geophysical surveys, perform advanced data analysis and modelling, and provide actionable recommendations to clients and internal engineering teams, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute detailed project plans for hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations, including scope, schedule and cost control. Conduct hydrogeological assessments for mine dewatering and permeability testing for open‑pit slope stability. Supervise drilling contractors and manage on‑site geophysical surveys. Perform computerised groundwater modelling and advanced data analysis. Coordinate daily geological data collection with engineering teams and major stakeholders. Provide technical leadership, risk management and innovative solutions to complex groundwater challenges. Prepare factual reports, presentations and recommendations, clearly outlining findings, limitations and opportunities. Oversee project budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities and deliver regular financial reporting to management. Ensure all deliverables meet industry standards, client specifications and regulatory requirements. Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Bachelor of Technology in Geo Informatics (or equivalent recognised qualification). 4–8 years’ relevant experience in hydrogeological investigations within the mining/resources sector. Demonstrated expertise in groundwater modelling software, permeability testing, geophysical survey techniques and mine dewatering projects. Proven advanced project management skills on large‑scale mining projects. Strong technical reporting and presentation abilities. Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and negotiation skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, contractors and senior management. Current Australian C‑class driver’s licence and ability to pass site medicals and drug & alcohol screening.
