SAP B1 Technical Consultant

OVERVIEW OF ROLE Sinapse is an Australian‑based IT consulting company specialising in strategy, people, processes, and systems. Our SAP B1 Practice focuses on the delivery, training, integration, and support of SAP Business One solutions, along with bespoke systems developed for key clients. We work across a diverse range of industries including Resources, Pharmaceutical, Retail, and Not‑for‑Profit offering our consultants exposure to varied and impactful project portfolios. Reporting to the Head of Operations, we are seeking a Technical Consultant with strong integration and technical development experience to support multiple clients across our application and integration landscape. Experience with SAP Business One is highly regarded but not compulsory; candidates with solid integration, middleware, or .NET development backgrounds are encouraged to apply. You will work closely with the Solutions Architect Lead and functional consultants within the SAP B1 Practice, contributing to integration design, technical delivery and ongoing support activities. Practical experience working with integration frameworks, including B1if, SDK/.NET, API integrations or equivalent middleware platforms, will be highly regarded. This role is based in Richmond, where the successful candidate will be supported by a capable team within a dynamic and growing consulting organisation. RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Technical Consultant (SAP Business One) with solid experience in B1if (Integration Framework), .NET development, custom add‑on creation and integration development/support. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical enhancements, resolving backlog issues, supporting end users and ensuring the stability and optimisation of SAP B1 and associated integration components. This is a hands‑on technical role involving development, troubleshooting, operational optimisation and collaboration with clients and internal teams to uplift system performance and user confidence. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the design and implementation of integration solutions, ensuring reliable and secure data exchange between SAP Business One and third‑party applications. Develop and support custom integrations, APIs and middleware workflows using tools such as B1if, DI‑API, Service Layer, .NET and other integration platforms. Assist in defining the integration approach, data flows, interface mappings and technical specifications for new and existing solutions. Provide post‑go‑live technical support across integration touchpoints, ensuring stable and consistent operation of connected systems. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies and system errors across multiple systems. Work closely with SMEs, business users and technical teams during project delivery and the “Run” phase to ensure integration requirements are met. Analyse incidents and recurring issues to identify process improvements and optimisation opportunities within integration landscapes. Translate business requirements into clear technical tasks, integration logic and configuration steps. Support and participate in user training, technical walkthroughs and knowledge‑transfer sessions. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including integration diagrams, data flow maps, interface specifications and support guidelines. Follow change management and governance processes to ensure integrations are aligned with architectural standards and system design. Attend client sites when required to support technical workshops, troubleshooting sessions and solution validation. Promote operational stability by monitoring integration performance and ensuring interfaces run efficiently across environments. TECHNICAL SKILLS Integration Development: Hands‑on experience building and supporting integrations using B1if, DI‑API, Service Layer, REST/SOAP APIs and third‑party middleware. Custom Add‑On Development: Proficient in .NET/C# and SAP B1 SDK to create, enhance and maintain custom add‑ons and extensions. System & Integration Architecture: Strong understanding of data flows, interface design, integration patterns and performance optimisation. Database & SQL Expertise: Skilled in SQL stored procedures, queries, troubleshooting data issues and ensuring data integrity across integrated systems. Error Handling & Technical Troubleshooting: Experienced in diagnosing integration failures, log analysis and resolving complex technical issues. Technical Documentation: Capable of producing high‑quality integration specs, mapping documents, architecture diagrams and deployment guides. Ideal Candidate Previous experience as an SAP Business One Technical Consultant or Analyst with strong exposure to integration tools such as B1if, SDK/.NET, APIs or other middleware platforms. Proven experience working in SAP Business One environments, particularly during implementation, post‑go‑live and hyper‑care phases. Solid understanding of SAP B1 functional processes to support effective troubleshooting and requirement translation. Strong technical capability in designing, developing and supporting integrations between SAP B1 and third‑party applications. Confident delivering user training, technical walkthroughs and providing hands‑on support for issue resolution. Excellent spoken and written communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement abilities. Willingness to travel to regional sites within Victoria to support distributed teams and client requirements.
