KW Thompsons Transport – Castlemaine, VIC Full-time | 47.5hrs per week + occasional Saturdays KW Thompsons Transport is a family‑owned business with over 50 years’ experience in interstate transport. We operate a modern fleet of Kenworth, Mack and Volvo trucks and are looking for an experienced and motivated Onsite Truck Mechanic / Workshop Manager to join our team in Castlemaine. This role is primarily hands‑on mechanical work, with additional responsibility for managing the workshop and supporting other mechanics. About the Role Carry out repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on our fleet (Kenworth, Mack & Volvo). Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults. Manage day‑to‑day workshop operations and support other mechanics. Order and manage parts, consumables and workshop inventory. Coordinate service schedules and liaise with drivers & operations. Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard. Maintain accurate job cards, service logs and compliance records. Occasional Saturday work as required. Some loading of trailers may be required. What We’re Looking For Trade‑qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (essential). Experience with heavy trucks (Kenworth/Mack/Volvo experience highly regarded). Previous workshop management or leading‑hand experience beneficial. Strong diagnostic skills. HR or MC licence (advantage but not essential).
