St Mary's Primary School - Thornbury – Thornbury VIC Contract Type: Permanent/Ongoing Position Full Time Applications Close: 3 December 2025 St Mary’s Primary School is seeking a highly motivated and passionate educator to join our dedicated teaching team beginning Term 1, 2026. This position combines 0.8 FTE classroom teaching with a 0.2 FTE Literacy Leader role. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong pedagogical skills, a commitment to student growth, and the capacity to support and lead literacy initiatives across the school. Salary will be based on experience in accordance with the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA). The successful applicant must possess a sound knowledge of and ability to implement a contemporary pedagogy that is engaging and motivating. We are looking for a candidate who: Is an enthusiastic and collaborative team member Demonstrates high-quality teaching and learning practices Has a strong understanding of contemporary literacy approaches – including MACS Vision for Instruction Can provide effective leadership in literacy planning, assessment, and intervention Skills/Experience required: Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification. A commitment to Catholic education. An ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters for the needs of all students. An eagerness to learn and lead Special Requirements: The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred. Contact details of two referees.
