Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology - Targeted Remuneration: $72.55 - $77.68 per hour + super + salary packaging Location: John Hunter Hospital | Awabakal Nation Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until March 2026 Hours Per Week: 19 Position Classification: Nurse Practitioner Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: Wednesday, 3rd December 2025 About The Role The Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology is responsible for providing holistic care to patients with gastroenterological conditions through the recognition of symptoms, diagnosis, and managing the conditions alongside patients and their families. On any given day, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for triaging gastroenterology referrals; conducting bowel cancer screenings; using their advanced clinical knowledge to prescribe appropriate medications; and taking part of research projects to optimise patient care. You will be supported by the Nurse Manager of the Interventional & Ambulatory Care, the Director of Gastroenterology, Deputy Director of Nursing as well as the Gastroenterologists. Eligibility for permanent or temporary part-time vacancies: Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; only offered in line with visa conditions and expiry date.
