Overview Principal Warfare Officer Instructor (PWO-I) at Serco will deliver advanced training to the Royal Australian Navy’s Surface Warfare Officers. As an integral member of the Maritime Warfare Training team, you will develop and deliver courses in line with current doctrine, maintain up‑to‑date expertise in RAN warfare policies, and assist in updating course materials for future training requirements. Benefits Delivering essential public services with real impact Working with a supportive team of former military professionals Learning and development pathways to help you grow Internal mobility across our global network Located at HMAS Watson with on‑site parking Encouraging applications from veterans and Defence‑experienced candidates Responsibilities Developing and delivering advanced courses for Surface Warfare Officers, in line with current doctrine and documentation Delivering additional courses required within the Surface Warfare Officers’ training continuum Maintaining up‑to‑date expertise in Royal Australian Navy warfare policies, procedures, doctrine and tactics to ensure the highest standards of training Assisting in the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness for future training requirements Qualifications Be able to achieve and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1 or higher A Principal Warfare Officer qualification from within the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy, or Royal Canadian Navy, US Navy equivalent At least 2 years of direct experience in a Principal Warfare Officer (PWO) or equivalent role with sea‑going assignments Seniority level Mid‑Senior level type Full‑time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries IT Services and IT Consulting We seek and celebrate diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds and cultures including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGTBQI+, veterans and people with disability.
