WHS & Compliance Manager (Systems, ISO & Governance) Full time - Geraldton WA Take ownership of our ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 certified IMS Paperwork and systems heavy role, ideal for a documentation focused person Locally owned civil and asphalt business, long term role in Geraldton ABOUT THE ROLE Catwest is looking for an experienced WHS and Compliance Manager to join our team in Geraldton. This is a full time, Geraldton based position with a strong focus on systems, documentation and governance rather than field based safety advisory work. You will have end to end responsibility for our Integrated Management System (MANGO) across safety, quality and environment, and for ensuring we comply with the WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020, the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 and relevant Codes of Practice. Working closely with our Operational Training and HSE Officer, supervisors and Directors, you will turn legal, client and ISO requirements into clear procedures, registers, forms and records that our team can follow. This role is primarily office based in Geraldton, with occasional visits to our yard and sites to support audits, inspections and investigations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and continuously improve our IMS (MANGO) to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 requirements Own document control, including procedures, forms, templates, version control and record keeping Develop, review and roll out WHS, quality and environmental policies, procedures and safe work instructions Plan, coordinate and close out the internal audit program, including follow up actions and evidence Prepare for and support external certification and surveillance audits Monitor WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and client requirements, and translate them into practical controls and updates to our IMS Maintain compliance registers, including risk, legal and other obligations Coordinate WHS and compliance reporting, including KPIs, dashboards and board level summaries Assist with incident and near miss investigations and ensure corrective and preventative actions are documented, implemented and verified Maintain training, licence, medical and competency records and support our induction and onboarding processes Support prequalification, tender and client audit responses from a WHS and compliance perspective Work closely with our Operational Training and HSE Officer, supervisors and project teams to embed a strong safety and compliance culture across the business ABOUT YOU You are structured, organised and genuinely enjoy getting the paperwork right. You are comfortable working in a role where most of your impact comes from strong systems, tidy records and consistent follow up. YOU WILL BRING Experience in a WHS, HSEQ, compliance or IMS coordinator or manager role, ideally in civil construction, transport, mining or related industries A solid knowledge of WHS legislation and regulations in Western Australia and how they apply in a practical site context Hands on experience managing or maintaining systems aligned to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 Proven experience with internal audits, non conformity management and continuous improvement Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook Excellent written communication, with a focus on clear procedures, forms and instructions High attention to detail and a methodical approach to document control and record keeping Confident stakeholder skills, able to follow up actions and hold people accountable respectfully A proactive, solutions focused mindset and genuine commitment to safety, quality and environmental performance Experience with MANGO or similar IMS software will be highly regarded.
