System Safety Engineer – Defence ALSE (various location options) Airflite has been a trusted name in aviation for over 44 years, supporting commercial, government, and defence sectors across the Asia-Pacific region. Our Defence Division operates from four key locations: Perth Airport (WA), Cheltenham (VIC), RAAF Pearce (WA), and RAAF Williamtown (NSW). About the Role We are seekingexpressions of interestfromqualified and experienced Aeronautical Engineersto join ourDefence Aircrew life Support Equipment (ALSE) ILS Team. Work locations available for this role include our Cheltenham (VIC) Defence Support Centre, RAAF Base Pearce (WA), and RAAF Edinburgh (SA), although other locations will be considered. Our Engineering Support Team plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) capability. Key Responsibilities To succeed in this role will require energy, discipline and the ability to work as part of a small and dynamic team, servicing a demanding ADF client. The role will be diverse and will include: Develop and maintain Program System Safety Management Plans. Review Verification & Validation (V&V) deliverables in support of Defence acquisition projects Lead System Safety working groups Provide technical advice across the capability lifecycle Provide guidance of engineering acquisition safety processes About You To succeed in this role, you will need: System Safety Practitioner Essential requirements: NV1 security clearance or the ability to achieve Tertiary engineering qualification Formal System Safety Engineering qualifications or recognition issued by Defence, accredited industry partner or global tertiary institution Highly Desirables requirements: Have or be able to obtain Chartered Status under IEAust Demonstrated experience with Aircrew Life Support Equipment engineering, testing and standards Experience in Defence aviation system safety engineering, with a specific focus on capability, systems and equipment acquisition Demonstrated experience in ALSE integration with personnel and platforms Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience across a complex array of platform, vendor and other Defence organisations Knowledge and practice in CASG Engineering processes and systems Demonstrated ability to manage system safety engineering priorities Why Join Airflite?
