As part of the team, you will be responsible for conducting necessary assessments and Occupational Therapy support to individual children, alongside group sessions. This is an exciting opportunity to provide innovative and pivotal Early Intervention support to children living with a disability and their families. This is a permanent position based in the Shellharbour Region. Both full and part time arrangements will be considered. Essential Criteria : Demonstrate experience, knowledge and skills as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to achieve impactful functional, sensory, educational and life skill outcomes for children with disabilities and their families Demonstrate a commitment and understanding of best practice in Early Childhood Intervention and the importance in creating environments that foster growth and development for children with disabilities Demonstrate knowledge, experience and skill in diagnostic assessment and generating associated reports, along with formulating programs and goals to assist in development specific to each child’s individual needs Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor and engage professionally with colleagues, health professionals, parents / carers, educators and the wider community Show commitment to supporting families to understand their child’s diagnosis and empowering them to aid in their child’s development Demonstrate an understanding of positive behaviour approaches and an ability to develop and maintain a positive, innovative approach to support children with challenging behaviour needs Demonstrate capacity for multidisciplinary and / or transdisciplinary teamwork and a willingness to contribute to team learning and development Be committed to ongoing personal and professional learning and growth Desirable Criteria : Knowledge, experience and / or specialty certifications in areas such as sensory integration, DIR Floortime or other Knowledge and understanding around the NDIS scheme and Early Intervention priorities, along with the expectations surrounding reporting to NDIS during plan review periods Experience in consulting a team in your area of expertise to provide comprehensive services for children and their families General Capabilities : Passionate and creative mindset to provide children and families with evidence informed intervention in a flexible, fun and family centred approach Strong organisational skills, with the ability to apply high level reasoning and independent professional judgement where necessary Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including IT skills Qualifications : Recognised qualifications in Occupational Therapy - e.g. Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or Master of Occupational Therapy Current registration with AHPRA Current NSW Working With Children Check Current NDIS Worker Screener Check Current Driver License Applicants are to complete an online application which briefly addresses the above criteria (equivalent 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV #J-18808-Ljbffr
