Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night. About the role As a Senior Project Engineer at Ernest Henry, you’ll lead a small multidisciplinary team to deliver capital and sustaining projects that keep the operation safe, reliable and productive. You’ll own projects from concept to handover, making sure work is delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the right standard. Key responsibilities include: Leading planning and delivery of sustaining and capital projects to meet safety, cost, schedule and quality targets. Owning the sustaining capital project portfolio, including scopes, approvals, estimates, CERs and cost tracking. Providing clear technical direction and reviewing designs, work packs and drawings. Managing tenders and contracts so scopes are clear and contractors deliver what’s agreed. Coordinating team workloads and priorities, and supporting engineers’ development. Overseeing execution from design and procurement through to commissioning and handover into maintenance. Keeping project documentation and drawings accurate, current and easy to find. Reporting project status, risks and actions in a clear, straightforward way. Building strong working relationships across operations, maintenance, finance and supply. About You You’re an experienced engineer who enjoys leading people and projects, not just managing tasks. You move easily between field and office, stay calm under pressure and keep others informed, even when plans change. You’ll bring: An Engineering degree (or equivalent) and strong project engineering experience in mining or heavy industry. A track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget. Experience leading or coordinating project teams and working with contractors. Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to listen, influence and bring people together. Confidence with the AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pronto and Microsoft Office suite of tools. A coaching leadership style that gives engineers ownership, while stepping in when issues arise.
