UOW College Australia (UOWCA) is wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Wollongong. Since 1988, UOWCA has been offering students alternative entry to UOW through university preparation courses. UOWCA course offerings include Academic programs (Higher Education Diplomas and University Entrance Programs), English Programs and Vocational programs. Full Time (38 hours per week) PEOPLE AND CULTURE SPECIALIST HR business partnering role Employee Life Cycle Employee/Industrial Relations People and Culture Projects Wollongong-based The People & Culture Specialist is primarily responsible for partnering with the business to develop and implement strategies that will attract, engage, and develop employees and build upon a high-performance values-driven culture. This position will provide HR and IR advice, improve business practices, lead projects and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Under the direction of the UOWCA General Manager and UOWGE Director Organisational Development, the People & Culture Business Partner will foster a corporate culture that exemplifies the UOW Global Enterprises (UOWGE) Corporate Values (passion, innovation, integrity, collaboration, courage, excellence). Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications. Extensive experience in a similar business partnering role in a commercial or professional services organisation. Significant experience in interpreting and providing advice to all levels concerning relevant HR policy, procedure and legislation. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral) Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with key stakeholders. High level of discretion and ability to work in environments requiring the strictest of confidence. Sound negotiation and analytical skills and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to be innovative and find creative solutions to issues that can be complex. Demonstrated understanding of contemporary HR practices and sound working knowledge of contemporary organisational development and workforce management tools, programs and strategy.
