Target Business Services – Salisbury South SA Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Target Business Services Location: 83 Rundle Road, Salisbury South, SA 5106 Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation Position: Full time, Permanent Our client, Safeguard Home Concepts Pty Ltd trading as Prime Fence and Backyard is a South‑Australian fencing supplier and manufacturer specialising in a wide range of fencing and backyard solutions — from Colorbond and steel posts to custom gates, lattice panels and other backyard products. The business supplies and manufactures fencing components for residential and commercial projects across South Australia. Prime Fence & Backyard is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Trades Worker to join their workshop team. In this hands‑on role you will accurately mark out, cut, form, assemble and finish sheet‑metal components used in fencing, gates and backyard products. You will work from technical drawings and job specifications to produce high‑quality parts that meet the company’s standards for durability and fit‑for‑purpose fencing systems. Key responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings and job specifications to determine materials and processes. Check sizes, gauges and tolerances of steel stock and components against specifications. Cut, punch, drill, bend and form sheet steel (including Colorbond where required) using hand and power tools, shears, press brakes, rollers and folding machines. Set up and operate fabricating machines and computer‑assisted metalworking equipment; develop efficient nesting/layouts when required. Weld, trim, deburr, grind and finish assemblies to a high standard; inspect parts and make adjustments to meet quality specifications. Assemble gates, posts, rails and panel components ready for dispatch or installation. Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and report faults. Follow safe work practices, use PPE and help maintain a clean, organised workshop. Cooperate with installation crews and warehouse staff to ensure correct handover of finished goods. Skills & experience Minimum 1+ year experience in sheet‑metal fabrication and a relevant trade qualification. Proven ability to read technical drawings and produce parts to fine tolerances. Hands‑on experience with press brakes, shears, rollers, punching and common metal fabrication tools. Strong attention to detail, a practical approach to problem solving and a positive, team‑focused attitude. Commitment to workplace safety and following standard operating procedures.
