Due to on‑going growth, we currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and driven Senior Accountant to join our Private Business Family Advisory division. The Role You will become part of a fast‑growing business unit with a broad range of clients from a number of industries. The Private Business Family Advisory team not only handles the taxation and accounting needs of clients but also provides unique advisory services, has a niche market reputation, and offers strong interaction with all other business units in the firm. We have a flat line management structure, providing easy access to multiple Partners while working predominantly for the team Manager. The successful candidate will take the job from start to finish and deal directly with clients. We work across a broad range of clients including Private Companies and Trusts, High Net‑Worth Individuals, Family Offices and Small‑to‑Medium Enterprises (SME’s). Key Responsibilities Review financial accounts, tax returns, business activity statements, instalment activity statements and other work performed by Intermediates, Graduates and Cadets for their clients. Have a solid understanding of tax legislation and conduct related research. Prepare complex individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns with limited supervision or direction. Maintain detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures (including assessment, objections, etc). Possess good working knowledge of GST, Business Activity Statements and instalment activity statements. Prepare and review workpapers, analyze client data and transactions, and set up accounts onto the accounting package in accordance with present standards. Prepare and analyze tailored management reports for clients. Prepare draft invoices to the manager or partners at the end of an engagement. Qualifications & Experience The candidate will ideally be in their final stages of completing their CA program with 3–4 years of experience within a business services division. Experience within a family office, private banking or investment organisation may also be beneficial. We are particularly looking for: Reporting skills – comfortable attending to all types of corporate, trust and individual accounting and taxation compliance of a simple to moderate complexity, with minimal supervision. Ideally experience with or interest in family office and high net‑wealth passive wealth clients. Ability to build strong relationships. Problem‑solving skills – demonstrate the ability to “think outside the square”, maintain a confident demeanour, interface with clients, and earn their respect. Strong attention to detail.
