The essential requirements for this role are: A sound understanding of weapons and safety and security equipment. Demonstrated experience in the management, maintenance, and compliance of firearms or security equipment in a correctional environment or similar complex organisation. Demonstrated experience leading bodies of work in areas such as policy development, risk assessment, and the implementation of operational improvements. The ability to coach and mentor staff in best practices for the management and use of weapons and safety and security equipment. Meticulous approach to record-keeping, inventory management, governance and written documentation Strong capability to identify potential risks and develop practical solutions for complex safety and security challenges. Ability to analyse technical information, incident reports, and audit findings, transforming them into actionable recommendations. Demonstrated experience in procurement and budget reporting. Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation and procedures Organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines Ability to use office automation software i.e. Microsoft, SAP Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements Glock armourers course certification (or ability to achieve certification).
