If you are passionate about working in the disability sector, providing services to NDIS participants, and working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, then My Voice is the organisation for you About the Role: Working on a 24/7 roster Monday to Sunday. We are currently hiring staff on a casual basis in the Southern Highlands, NSW. If you have flexible availability and passion, we would love to hear from you. A Disability Support Worker has a crucial role in ensuring that NDIS participants are given the support they need and to assist participants in accomplishing daily activities, building trust with participants, and guiding them to lead independent lives. We expect our staff to deliver on the principles of choice, control, and self‑determination, to be respectful and non‑judgmental, and to create a non‑discriminatory and culturally safe service delivery and workplace. The right candidates will be caring, open‑minded, reliable, flexible, able to follow instructions, and have a can‑do attitude. Key Responsibilities: Utilize a strengths‑based, participant‑focused framework with participants, families, and partners. Be responsible for the daily care of participants with psychosocial disabilities and challenging behaviour. Provide transport for activities or medical appointments. Personal care such as showering, dressing, and bowel care. Assistance with cooking and cleaning. Assist participants with their daily routines and activities in line with individual NDIS plans. Work collaboratively as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team. Regularly fill out shift reports and medication charts. Assist participants to lead a more independent life, with freedom to have choice and control over their decisions. Must be available to work weekdays. Aptitude and willingness to learn and a desire to work in the disability sector. A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain it. Access to own car with insurance, and a valid Australian driver’s licence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Criteria: Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster. Ability to work unsupervised. Highly adaptable skills. Ability to work under pressure. Some experience in supporting a person with a psychosocial/trauma background and challenging behaviour. Mental Health First Aid Certificate or experience in providing mental health support. Cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support. #J-18808-Ljbffr
