We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a full time position. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain heavy diesel vehicles, plant, and earthmoving machinery including trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and ancillary equipment Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and compliance checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Australian standards Conduct major repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls of diesel engines, drivetrains, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic components Inspect machinery to ensure operational safety, reliability, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements Operate earthmoving and mobile plant equipment (where licensed and competent) for testing, fault diagnosis, commissioning, relocation, and operational support purposes Assist site and operations teams by safely moving, positioning, and testing plant and equipment as required Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and defect reports for all equipment and vehicles Coordinate with parts suppliers, workshop staff, and operational teams to minimise downtime and ensure efficient maintenance workflows Ensure all mechanical and operational tasks are completed in accordance with workshop procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and WHS regulations Applicants must have Minimum 1+ years' hands‑on experience and AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on‑the‑job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant demonstrated expertise in diagnostic testing, systematic fault‑finding, and problem‑solving Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electronic control modules, and mechanical systems High level of technical accuracy, attention to detail, and quality workmanship Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within workshop and field teams Current driver's licence (HR preferred) The successful candidate will be offered a salary of AUD $85,000 - $110,000 per annum.
