Suicide Prevention Outreach Team Clinician (RN 2-8; Occupational Therapist lvl 2; Psychologist; Social Worker Lvl 2; Counsellor Lvl 2) – MRRC and Long Bay Hospital – TFT/PT up to June 2026 Employment type: Temporary Full time/Part time Position classification: RN 2-8; Occupational Therapist lvl 2; Psychologist; Social Worker Lvl 2; Counsellor Lvl 2 Remuneration: dependent on position classification plus superannuation (Pro rata for part time) Hours per week: up to 38 Requisition ID: REQ Applications close: 11 December 2025 at 11:59pm AEDT Position Title Suicide Prevention Outreach Team Clinician (RN 2-8; Occupational Therapist lvl 2; Psychologist; Social Worker Lvl 2; Counsellor Lvl 2) – MRRC and Long Bay Hospital – TFT/PT up to June 2026 The Role Provide care and follow‑up to people identified as experiencing, recovering from or managing suicidal distress. Work alongside Custodial Mental Health, Primary Health and Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) to provide support to patients, including conducting suicide risk assessments, developing safety plans, providing assertive follow‑up after a crisis, engaging with family members, and collaboratively identifying patient‑centred multi‑disciplinary support. The position is part of the Towards Zero Suicides in Custody Initiative and will trial new approaches to working with patients identified as at risk of suicide in custody. Essential Requirements Registered Nurse: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, minimum RN year (or equivalent). Allied Health: Bachelor degree or postgraduate qualification in allied health professions, including social work, occupational therapy or psychology, with at least two years of clinical experience. Allied Health applicant must hold AHPRA registration (Psychologist/Occupational Therapist) or AASW membership (Social Worker). Our Service and Team Custodial Mental Health (CMH) is a specialist mental health service within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network that provides a range of mental health services to adults in NSW correctional centres. CMH clinicians work alongside staff from other clinical streams and CSNSW staff, including Psychology, Offender Services and Programs, and Custodial Operations staff.
