Responsibilities Correctly collecting, caring, storing, packaging and labelling pathology specimens Providing a high‑quality pathology service to requesting doctors and patients Greeting patients in a friendly and courteous manner and interviewing patients to ascertain key information for identification purposes Referring doctor/s information Collection of category and billing information Explaining procedures to patient and providing written instructions as appropriate Collecting the required specimen(s), placing them in suitably labelled containers, fixing laboratory number stickers, storing and transporting appropriately Couriering specimens or reports from the collection location to the required destination if required Your Contribution Certificate 3 or 4 in Pathology Collection Experience in a Pathology collection service highly desirable, preferably previous experience in the roles described above Highly developed customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written) What We Offer Flexibility – shifts available 7 days per week, AM and PM across Melbourne; pick shifts close to home and on days you are free to work A great work/life balance Salary Packaging – increase your take‑home pay Employee Assistance Program Ability to join Fitness Passport – your pass to a wide selection of fitness facilities Discounts and promotions always available through our Foundation Career development and advancement encouraged Culture of continuous improvement About Pathology St Vincent’s Pathology is a private practice offering diagnostic testing to inpatients of St Vincent’s Private Hospitals in Fitzroy, East Melbourne and Kew, St Vincent’s Public Hospital Fitzroy, as well as servicing privately referred patients in up to 80 pathology collection centres across metropolitan Melbourne.
