Engagement, Coordinator (Indigenous Identified) UNSW is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidate for the Engagement, Coordinator role within the Indigenous Student Success team at the Nura Gili Centre. Employment Details Employment Type: Full‑time (35‑hour week) Duration: Continuing role Remuneration: Level 6 from $103k + 17% superannuation and leave loading Location: Kensington NSW (flexible working arrangements) Benefits: Cultural leave, Indigenous Employee Network, flexible work, three additional days of leave over Christmas period, lifelong learning & career development support, progressive HR practices, discounts and entitlements Position Focus The Engagement Coordinator supports the delivery of initiatives that ensure Indigenous students experience an exceptional journey throughout their studies at UNSW. The role coordinates and administers engagement activities, development opportunities, and educational services that contribute to successful Indigenous student outcomes. Key Accountabilities Contribute to a positive and dynamic Nura Gili community, informed by culturally affirming values, experiences and shared aspirations. Support the delivery and administration of student programmes, services and events to achieve high levels of student engagement and success. Collaborate effectively with the Indigenous Student Success Team and broader Nura Gili teams as required. Work with the Scholarships Office, Faculties and students to promote access to scholarships and financial aid, such as ABSTUDY and emergency payments. About You Position is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only. Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required. Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrated experience contributing to Indigenous programmes and opportunities that result in positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Project/program management skills, with an excellent ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative. Demonstrated ability to create positive, vibrant and respectful relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of legislation and policies that apply to Indigenous students in the higher education sector, including the Indigenous Student Success Programme (ISSP) and ABSTUDY. Demonstrated experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office and CRMs. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
