About AIEF AIEF was established in 2008 in response to community demand from Indigenous families who choose to enrol their children in boarding schools. Bringing together the government and private sector, AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, with career support and mentoring to help them make a successful transition to employment. Backed by some of Australia’s most influential business, philanthropic, media and community leaders, AIEF has grown from one scholarship student in 2008 to now supporting over 1,500 young Indigenous people from over 400 communities in every state and territory of Australia. AIEF has consistently achieved annual retention, Year 12 completion and career transition rates above 90% since funding its first scholarship in 2008. Role Reporting to the Director, Partnerships and Advancement, the Fundraising Manager, Advancement is responsible for driving revenue growth through the strategic delivery of fundraising initiatives, with a particular focus on appeals and campaigns, individual and community giving, and donor stewardship and engagement. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the Advancement Strategy and annual fundraising plans to drive sustainable growth and donor engagement. Grow AIEF’s donor base by attracting new supporters and converting prospects into long‑term, values‑aligned donors. Lead a calendar of multi‑channel campaigns and appeals (including digital and community‑based initiatives), testing and optimising for impact. Maintain strong, professional relationships with donors through regular, personalised stewardship and high‑quality communications that clearly articulate AIEF’s impact. Work closely with the Partnerships team to identify and secure new partnerships. Manage, coach and develop team members, building a high‑performance culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Oversee the effective use of CRM and other systems to support segmentation, stewardship, reporting and campaign optimisation. About You Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent, relevant experience. Demonstrated success designing and delivering fundraising campaigns and appeals, achieving or exceeding income and growth targets. Experience using data, donor metrics and CRM systems to inform decisions and improve fundraising performance. Proven ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrated people leadership experience, including setting clear KPIs and developing high‑performing team members. A genuine commitment to improving Indigenous education and employment outcomes and alignment with AIEF’s values. Experience working within Indigenous education is highly desirable.
