About the Role Join our team as a Nurse Manager on a full‑time ongoing basis at the Special Care Nursery based at Sandringham Hospital. The Nurse Manager position is a clinical and operational leadership role responsible for clinical and operational outcomes and the management of staff. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Newborn Services, the Nurse Manager works collaboratively with a fantastic, inclusive team passionate about providing excellent care for patients and families. Responsibilities Management of nursing resources to maintain high standards of nursing care. Role‑modeling and staff engagement through ongoing communication within the team. Monitoring and managing unit budgets and target activity, maintaining financial responsibility and accountability. Workforce management and strategic planning. Operating a family‑centred care model within the unit and aiming to provide high‑quality care to babies and their families. Focusing on care plans, discharge planning and education to enable safe and early discharge and family reunification. About Us Sandringham Special Care Nursery is an 8‑bed Level 3 nursery, providing care for mildly—moderately unwell newborns born at ≥34 weeks gestation or with a birthweight ≥2,000 grams. On average 200 babies are admitted each year. We aim to provide high‑quality, family‐integrated care to our babies and families. About you To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following skills, experience and knowledge: Leadership and management experience in neonatal nursing. Superior time‑management and communication skills. A genuine thirst for learning and openness to further study. The ability to thrive in an inclusive and collaborative team environment. A demonstrated proactive approach in supporting colleagues at all levels and mentoring others. Dedication to safe best practice and quality family‑centred care. A commitment to ongoing professional development and increasing skills and knowledge in neonatal intensive care and special care nursery.
