Senior Technical Systems Analyst

Initial Contract Duration 12 months Extension Term 12 months Locations Victoria (VIC) or New South Wales (NSW) About the Role Our Client’s Business Applications and Services Unit is seeking a proactive and highly skilled Technical Systems Analyst to support cloud transformation and system integration projects. The successful candidate will translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications to guide development, cloud, and infrastructure teams. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional documentation capability, and the ability to bridge business needs with actionable technical designs. Key Duties & Responsibilities Documentation Deliverables Creation of detailed story cards for Agile teams, with clear requirements and acceptance criteria Development of functional and technical API documentation Preparation of configuration specifications for cloud services, infrastructure and platform setups Production of detailed technical system documents, including: Network diagrams Infrastructure interface designs Asset and inventory management lists Performance and monitoring plans Risk, failover and recovery plans Clear mapping between business requirements and technical implementation Project Outcomes Provide well-structured documentation enabling faster, more accurate development and testing Validate technical designs against architectural standards prior to development Requirements Essential Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications Strong understanding of cloud SaaS, data systems, and government regulatory environments Extensive experience producing technical system documentation (diagrams, inventories, risk and recovery plans, monitoring strategies, etc.) Demonstrated capability analysing infrastructure design, connectivity and system processing issues Proven collaboration with technical analysts on API specifications, data flow diagrams, data mapping, functional and system diagrams AWS certification (or equivalent Azure/Google Cloud certification) demonstrating cloud fundamentals Desirable 5+ years in technical analysis or system/infrastructure/cloud engineering Experience in infrastructure transformation or on-prem → cloud migration Knowledge of IT governance and compliance frameworks Experience with SaaS regulatory/data platforms (e.g., Palantir) Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines Ability to work independently and proactively in fast-paced delivery environments Prior experience as a developer or system engineer Due to the nature of this role, this job is open to Australian Citizens only .
