This store is able to tailor its offering to suit regional preferences, while still delivering a wide range of quality groceries, bakery items, pantry staples, fresh produce and everyday essentials. They work with local growers and suppliers to bring fresh fruit, vegetables and pantry staples to the shelves, and support grassroots community groups through donations and local initiatives. This store is seeking to fill the position of a Retail Store Manager who can organise and control the operations of our retail establishment. Ideal candidate must be able to drive ongoing improvements in stock control, staff coordination and customer engagement, and ensure the business grows sustainably. Location: Bundaberg, Queensland Job-type: Full-time Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience) Key Responsibilities Plan, organise and manage the daily operations of the store, allocating responsibilities to staff and ensuring smooth workflow. Analyse market trends, customer preferences and sales data to determine product mix, pricing strategies and opportunities for business growth. Manage stock levels by including purchasing, stock control, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring stock levels remain within budget. Oversee merchandising, in-store promotional displays and marketing activities to maximise sales and enhance the store’s visibility. Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditure, track financial performance, reconcile daily sales and ensure accurate banking procedures. Recruit, interview, train, supervise and mentor staff while monitoring performance, conducting appraisals, and coaching or disciplining employees where required. Manage customer service standards by resolving complaints, overseeing issue resolution and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Evaluate product popularity, buying trends and revenue reports to support data-driven decisions and sales forecasting. Ensure compliance with all legal, workplace health and safety regulations, and internal policies to maintain a safe working environment. Contribute to long-term business strategy by identifying areas for improvement, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting continuous business development. Ideal Candidate Requirements Minimum Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Management/Business Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a busy environment and possess knowledge of retail industry Experience in Australian grocery convenience store is preferred Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively. Strong focus on delivering high-quality customer experiences. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
