Purchasing Officer – FMCG Food manufacturing My client is an FMCG manufacturing business. The company has an enviable reputation for quality products and state of the art manufacturing. They are a small, energetic, quality focused and fun team poised for further growth, and they are looking for a proactive, hands-on Senior Purchasing Officer to join their team. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the GM, you will be responsible for raw materials and consumable replenishment planning, PO generation and management, supplier management, data entry of purchasing documentation, supply forecasting, master data maintenance, cycle counting, inventory investigations and continuous improvement projects. Key duties will include: MRP – raw materials and consumable replenishment planning Purchase order entry and distribution to suppliers Reporting of any significant PO changes that may impact the business Purchasing Data Entry – timely and accurate purchase orders receipting, stock transfers movements Supplier follow up and relationship management Cycle counting in conjunction with the warehouse Purchase order confirmation within 24hrs of placement of PO Purchase order management – on time delivery in full Supplier Invoice Approval – purchase price variance investigation and resolution Raw Materials Forecasting – providing updated forecasts to suppliers by end of second week of each month Source new raw materials as required Weekly stock reconciliation Prepare annual cycle counting calendar Coordinate and control weekly cycle counts including root cause analysis of variations, proactively solve inventory problems and provide timely resolution to ensure minimal impact to business processes Ideally you will have the following work experience, skills, and personal qualities: You have a sense of urgency. Multitasking and prioritising in a fast paced and changing food manufacturing environment Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships through application of communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop inventory management processes. Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
