Weekend Medical Officer

This weekend part-time role offers flexible working hours Friday - Sunday in a beautiful beach side setting in Curl Curl. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in SPP's multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, general practitioners, registered nurses and counsellors.
The Medical Officer is responsible for providing medical treatment for individual inpatient clients at South Pacific Private Hospital, including admission assessments, detox management and ongoing medical evaluation and care. Care for Day Program clients is limited to intervention in medical emergency (code blue) while awaiting transfer to emergency department.
Standard requirements:
Professional integrity, adherence to a professional code of ethics and confidentiality requirements as per SPP policy
Strong interpersonal communication skills and professional internal and external boundaries
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment effectively, respecting difference and diversity
Maintain personal professional skills, competence and performance
Work within the operational policy and procedure framework
Qualifications/experience/personal attributes:
Recognised current NSW Medical Board qualifications (AHPRA)
Current medical indemnity and workers comp insurance
Current CPR certificate
Current Working With Children certificate
SPP Medical Provider Number
Preferable 1 year Experience with Drug and Alcohol detoxification/Psychiatry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation
Initiative, commitment and flexibility. Diplomacy and tact
