About your new role As a Peer Practice Lead, you will champion and embed peer work and lived experience practice across youth mental health and wellbeing services. Drawing on your own lived and living experience, you will provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to peer workers and youth mental health & wellbeing workers supporting the integration of recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed approaches within multidisciplinary teams. The role involves modelling authentic peer relationships, promoting hope and self‑determination and fostering environments where lived experience perspectives are valued and embedded in service delivery. You will also contribute to service development, workforce capability and quality improvement initiatives to strengthen the peer workforce and enhance outcomes for young people experiencing complex mental health challenges. What you will bring to the role Minimum Cert IV in a related field and/or equivalent experience working in a relevant setting. Demonstrates an interest and understanding of others and relates well to people at all levels including the impact of trauma, mental distress and social determinants on health and wellbeing. Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with young people, staff and partner organisations. Proven ability to work autonomously within set guidelines with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.
