Job Description Your role as a Senior Analyst is a catalyst for change and improvement based on empirical data. Not just hunches or maybes, but well researched, robust data which tells a clear and engaging story. Responsibilities Providing technical leadership in the team building our capability and capacity to be highly responsive – safeguarding our technical practises and uplifting the capability of others through peer coaching and mentoring to ensure the delivery of quality and timely data and insights. Supporting delivery of our mandatory obligations (i.e. Official Information Act requests & Parliamentary Questions) as well as ad‑hoc requests for data and insights driving decision‑making, including those related to the Ministry's strategy, and government targets. Contributing to our ability to support other teams across the ministry with detailed quality data and insights docking into machinery of government processes or informing key initiatives delivering on ministry priorities, including legislation change. Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience You will be adaptable and comfortable pivoting as priorities shift – no two days are the same, and you'll thrive in an environment where flexibility and responsiveness are key. To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have Proven experience as a technical leader Flexibility to respond to ambiguity, multiple deadlines and changing priorities with a high acuity for attention to detail A delivery focus, with persistence to work between the simple and complex efficiently and effectively (i.e. from data extraction to storytelling to providing advice) Good communication skills and the ability to translate your findings into a compelling narrative Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders A tertiary degree in a relevant field Extensive experience using analytical software (mandatory SAS, PowerBI would be an advantage but not mandatory).
