Group Financial Controller, ANZ Outskirts of Sydney CBD – 5 days in office role The mandate Own the controllership, reporting, and financial control agenda across ANZ. Modernise how finance operates, automate the close, lift working capital discipline, and deliver clear, decision‑ready insights to the executive team. Partner with the CEO and COO on execution. Lead consolidation, policy, governance, and finance transformation. Finance operates payroll processing, HR owns payroll function and policy; you oversee governance, controls, and cycle sign off. What you will do Deliver a fast, accurate close at T+3 month end, T+5 quarter and year end, with full balance sheet integrity Lead statutory reporting, tax lodgements, external audit, and internal control maturity Produce board and ELT packs with sharp variance bridges, pricing and margin insights, and driver‑based forecasts Run cash forecasting and treasury, improve the cash conversion cycle, and manage banking relationships Build a scalable shared services model for AP, AR, and payroll processing, with clear SLAs and controls Own the systems roadmap across ERP, consolidation or EPM, and BI, lift data quality and automation Lead reorganisation, offshoring, system implementations, and M&A integrations, measure and realise benefits Coach and develop a high‑performing team across sites, create clear succession and standards What good looks like in the first 90 days Close calendar operating to T+3, reconciliations under control, and a clean variance story Rolling 13-week cash forecast live, weekly discipline in place AP invoice capture and three‑way match underway, first benefits tracked Board pack refreshed, issued on time, with actions and owners Payroll cycle sign off rhythm established with HR, exceptions cleared quickly About you Senior Financial Controller in a multi‑entity, multi‑site ANZ environment Deep technical grounding in AASB and IFRS, strong tax and audit experience Track record delivering T‑plus closes, automation, and shared services uplift Implementation experience with ERP and consolidation tools, confident with BI and data governance Working capital operator who understands inventory, cost to serve, and margin levers CA or CPA qualified; tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; postgraduate study valued Clear communicator who tells the truth, sets pace without trading accuracy, and builds accountable teams How performance will be measured Close speed and quality, audit outcomes, and on‑time lodgements Forecast accuracy for cash, revenue, EBITDA, and working capitalWorking capital and margin improvement, with benefits tracked Shared services KPIs: AP cycle time, AR aging, payroll accuracy, cut‑off compliance, SLA attainment Stakeholder satisfaction from CEO and COO What is on offer Senior remit with genuine influence Exposure to finance leadership and transformation projects Chance to design and build your team with executive backing Sydney CBD outskirts location, modern tooling Competitive package, with strong long‑term career prospects To apply Send your resume and a brief cover note that outlines two achievements: How you took a month end from T+7 or slower to T+3, with the key changes you made.
