AI Operations Engineer

How you'll make an impact As an Operations Engineer within AMP’s newly established AI Hub, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the future of AI across the organisation. This is a hands‑on technical role where your expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and distributed systems will directly support the delivery of AMP’s AI roadmap. You’ll play a pivotal role in optimising and maintaining the AI platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance, scalability and security. Your programming skills, particularly in Python, will be highly beneficial, enabling you to automate workflows, develop cloud‑native applications, and contribute to the deployment of AI / ML solutions. By collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Architecture, Cyber, Risk, and Legal) you’ll help lay the technical foundations that enable AMP to scale its AI capabilities and uplift organisational maturity in artificial intelligence and data analytics. What you will being to the role You’ll bring a strong background in cloud engineering and software development, with hands‑on experience in maintaining cloud‑based distributed systems—particularly across Azure and AWS. Your proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform, and your ability to build and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, will be essential. You’ll also be comfortable working with containerised applications via Docker and have a solid grasp of cloud networking and security best practices. Experience coding in Python is a must, whether it’s building backend APIs, automating infrastructure, or contributing to AI / ML pipelines. You’ll demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, a collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in agile, multidisciplinary teams. Your communication skills will allow you to engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and your passion for AI will help drive awareness and education across the organisation. across the organisation.
