Job Overview Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences (APSS) at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple full‑time tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions in the Aerospace Engineering program. The start date will be August 2026. Responsibilities and Qualifications Successful candidates must have: Teaching commitment – excellence in undergraduate and graduate instruction. Research – develop a nationally recognized, externally funded program and contribute through service to the institution and the profession. Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field is required. Research interests in one or more of the following areas: Aerospace Composite Structures Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics Space Instrumentation Digital Engineering of Aerospace Systems Both theoretical and/or experimental background is suitable. Exceptional expertise in other aerospace engineering areas will also be considered. Our faculty strengths include space vehicle dynamics & control, intelligent machines, autonomous aerospace systems, advanced composites, structural health monitoring, high‑fidelity numerical flow simulations, and energetic materials research. Florida Tech has invested over $14 million to expand research infrastructure, including state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and equipment for composites, material characterization, and spacecraft manufacturing.
