We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our Government client in their operations division to assist with the delivery of managed funding programs including the State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and resilience funded projects by State and Local Government agencies.

Your Contribution:

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in managing the assessment of plant and equipment fleet eligibility and benchmarking standard treatments activities within government framework. Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Governance: Develop and maintain expert knowledge of program governance related to plant and equipment, benchmarking of standard treatments, and cost estimation.

  • Benchmarking and Estimation: Review and manage the application of the departments reconstruction standard treatments and benchmark rates using first principles estimation or suitable methodologies. Implement sustainable and best practice approaches for benchmarking activities to meet program governance standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify, escalate, and manage risks related to plant and equipment eligibility and benchmarking of standard treatments.

  • Risk Management: Facilitate commercial risk management and develop technical, commercial, and risk frameworks to support department operations.

  • Reporting and Support: Maintain high-quality data and produce timely, transparent, and accurate quantitative and qualitative reports. Support technical advisors with plant and equipment assessments during funding acquittal or closeout.

Suitability:

  • Qualifications: Mandatory current quantity surveying or construction estimating qualifications; civil estimating experience; familiarity with The Plant & Vehicle Management Manual by IPWEA. A Fleet Management Certificate is desirable.

  • Experience: Proven experience in plant and equipment cost estimation, synthesis of plant charge-out rates, management of plant and vehicle fleets, and benchmarking methodologies for standard treatments.

  • Skills: Exceptional collaboration and communication skills to lead methodology and framework improvements aligned with departments priorities.

  • Commitment: Demonstrated commitment, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.
