UX/UI Designer with Front-End (React) Experience Australian Group Insurances – Sydney CBD NSW Job Description – UX/UI Designer (with Front-End React Experience) AGI is looking for a skilled UX/UI Designer with strong front-end development capabilities in React to join our team in the Sydney CBD office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing user interfaces across AGI's digital platforms, ensuring our products are intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent. This role requires full-time attendance at our Sydney CBD office. In this hybrid design-and-build role, you will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and developers to translate business requirements into exceptional user experiences. You will take ownership of the full design lifecycle—research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design—and collaborate on the implementation of front-end components to ensure seamless delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process for web-based applications. Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs. Build responsive, modern user interfaces using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver user-focused solutions. Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions. Maintain and contribute to AGI's design system and component library. Ensure all interfaces meet accessibility standards and align with AGI's brand and design principles. Provide input into UX strategy and continuously identify opportunities for improvement. Skills & Experience Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong understanding of user-centred design principles. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional UX/UI design experience required. Practical front-end development experience, including hands-on work with React. A minimum of 2+ years of hands-on React development experience is essential. Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Ability to translate complex requirements into simple, elegant user interfaces. Experience conducting user testing and incorporating feedback into iterative design. Strong communication and collaboration skills. A portfolio demonstrating both design capability and front-end development work. Preferred Experience (Nice to Have) Experience designing for financial services or similar industries. Familiarity with design systems and component-based front-end architecture. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). Experience with Git or modern front-end tooling.
