The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 475 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.
Seasonal Clerkship Program Winter 2025
Paid placement based on VPS Grade 1 salary of $51,867 per annum.
We are offering a three-week placement from Monday 23 June 2025 to Friday 11 July 2025.

PLEASE NOTE:
The OPP's Seasonal Clerkship Program is being offered to students who are in their final or penultimate year of study; that is, they intend to commence their final semester in 2025.
Priority offers will be made to eligible participants of the Seasonal Clerkship Program 2025 to join the OPP's Legal Traineeship Program in 2026.
The OPP is committed to increasing employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and will be allocating at least one Seasonal Clerkship 2025 and one Legal Traineeship in 2026 to a candidate who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Applications must include:
- a covering letter, addressed to the “OPP Recruitment team”
- a copy of your current academic record (official or unofficial)
- a resume
- a completed application form containing your responses to the questionnaire which can be found on the last page of the application screen.
To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must be available to attend an in person assessment centre between 30 August 2024 to 13 September 2024 and interviews between 23 September 2024 to 8 October 2024.
Applications close 11.59pm Sunday 28 July 2024.
