Job Overview Lead / Senior Piping Engineer role at Wood. 12‑month contract with possibility for extension. Focus on piping packages within greenfield mining project in Brisbane. Leadership role supporting major client. 10+ years experience mining/processing. Must hold full working rights in Australia. Responsibilities Focal point for piping engineering across project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design). Produce cost‑effective engineering reports, documents and deliverables. Support and mentor junior engineers and designers. Ensure assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule. Provide technical assistance to others as required. Drive technical excellence in piping engineering portion and enable robust technical decisions with other disciplines and client. Lead by example, display Wood values and behaviours, commitment to highest standards of safety and ethical behaviour. Qualifications Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognised institution. 10+ years of relevant piping design engineering experience within mining and/or processing industries. Experience delivering within challenging multi‑discipline environment. Leadership experience supervising teams. Professional knowledge of regulatory framework, codes and standards. Commercially astute, solution‑mindset, skilled risk management. Excellent communicator (written & verbal), technical report writing, presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office, spreadsheets, commercial engineering programs. Passion for energy security / transition, stakeholder relationship building, operational excellence. Desirable Previous client‑facing leadership role on major long‑term Engineering Service Contract in greenfield mining. Experience in Queensland region.
