Trainees may work alongside teams such as Community Resilience and Partnerships or Communications and Marketing, gaining firsthand experience across a variety of roles throughout their traineeship. What You'll Be Doing Answering phone calls and directing enquiries Greeting visitors and providing customer service Drafting and formatting correspondence, emails, and reports Filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry Maintaining and updating databases and records Responding to community enquiries via phone, email, or in person Providing information about council services and facilities Assisting with records filing systems and registering/archiving documents Helping ensure compliance with privacy and record‑keeping legislation Scheduling meetings and taking/distributing meeting minutes Maintaining office supplies and shadowing staff to understand council operations Participating in training sessions and completing tasks aligned with traineeship requirements Following workplace health and safety procedures What We're Looking For A positive attitude with a genuine eagerness to learn Excellent communication skills A team player who enjoys collaborating and supporting colleagues Reliable, punctual, and ready to take on new challenges Basic computer and administrative skills An interest in local government or community service Workplace readiness and professionalism Why Choose This Traineeship?
