Clinical Rotational Pharmacist The closing date is 02 February 2026 We are looking for enthusiastic Pharmacists to join our team of Clinical Rotational Pharmacists. Our excellent programme offers a diverse range of development opportunities for Pharmacists with an interest in honing their clinical knowledge, as well as taking strives into leadership and management opportunities. Our team of Clinical Rotational Pharmacists participate in 12 month rotations working across all 5 divisions within the trust giving the post holder the opportunity to experience an unrivalled breadth of clinical pharmacy practice and professional development. Main duties of the job To provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to ward(s) within specialist area.To deliver designated performance objectives specific to the allocated rotation area(s). Our Clinical Rotational Pharmacists participate in extended clinical rotations in a vast range of specialties across the hospital. Our rotations include: Surgery Gastroenterology Trauma & Orthopaedics Vascular surgery Pre-admission clinics Critical Care Oncology and Haematology Medicines Information Medicine Emergency and Acute Medicine General Medicine Respiratory Renal Hepatology Elderly care Infectious diseases Solid Organ Transplant Neurosciences Neurology and Stroke Neurosurgery Cardiology, Diabetes and Endocrinology Paediatrics Women\'s Health About us Our Trust Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. We welcome applications from the Armed Forces. Person Specification Qualifications Masters level degree in pharmacy. Post-graduate preregistration year. Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council. Completed Certificate (Year 1) of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice and studying for completion of year 2*. Completed year 1 and year 2 of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice)*. MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)*. Qualified and registered as an Independent prescriber. Professional and final accuracy checking Experience Moderate post-registration hospital experience including prescription screening, medicines reconciliation, medicines information, experience of preparative services either TPN/chemotherapy. Experienced clinical pharmacist who has covered a range of specialities. Medicine including elderly care, acute medicine and other specialist medicine and Surgery including general surgery and other surgical specialities Documentation in medical notes. Writing or assisting in writing drug policies and guidelines/PGD development. Evidence of having conducted a clinical audit Recent post-registration hospital experience, ideally including previous experience in a teaching hospital and experience of more than one hospital. Experienced clinical pharmacist (at band 7) Evidence of having written pharmaceutical and/or educational publications. Experience as a personal tutor to a range of staff groups. Drug expenditure analysis and reporting. Horizon scanning. Knowledge Good clinical knowledge of drugs and therapeutic trends within general medicine and surgery. Knowledge of NICE and NPSA guidance and subsequent examples of local implementation Knowledge of Health care systems and NHS changes. Computer literate with experience of Word, Powerpoint and Excel Familiar with the use of a range of visual aids for teaching. Pharmacy computer systems training. Skills Good organisation skills/time management. Able to prioritise workload and target efforts appropriately Self motivated and enthusiastic. Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to give oral presentations appropriate to the level of the audience including students Able to produce written reports. Proven ability to influence and negotiate with all grades of staff. Able to work well in a team Ability to listen and act on direction from senior pharmacists Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure and to deadlines. Able to produce written support materials for training. Proven ability to teach and train a range of staff groups.
