About the role As a Youth Access Clinician, you will support youth mental health through providing counselling and brief intervention services to young people accessing the Geraldton Youth Hub. About the practice We are a for‑purpose organisation that creates brighter futures for young people in Western Australia by offering a range of no‑cost mental health services. Established in 1994, we deliver innovative and accessible mental health services and programmes across Western Australia to help at‑risk young people aged 12 to 25. A key component of this is our role as the lead agency across various locations, including Geraldton, which forms part of our new Youth Focus Geraldton Youth Hub located on Southern Yamatji Country. Experience and qualifications required Tertiary qualifications (Bachelors or higher) in a relevant discipline including Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or equivalent. Current membership or registration with an appropriate professional body. Demonstrated experience and ability to engage work with and coordinate care for young people aged 12 to 25 years in areas of mental health and substance use intervention. The ability to undertake screening and assessment to determine young person's needs level of risk and to refer to other services as appropriate. Experience in engaging with young people from ‘at risk’ populations including LGBTIQA+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CaLD communities, young men, and young people who are homeless/at risk of homelessness. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary team. Willingness to work one late shift till 7:00pm (Monday or Thursday). ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence. What's on offer for the successful candidate We are a recognised Inclusive Employer (DCA 2023/2024).
