Senior Data Engineer – Azure | Snowflake | Python

Senior Data Engineer Location: Burleigh Heads, Queensland, Australia (Hybrid or Remote) Type: Full-time Reports to: CTO Overview Design and build modern, scalable, and secure data pipelines on Azure and Snowflake, enabling real‑time insights and analytics across a rapidly growing global network of veterinary practices. What you’ll do Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Python. Develop scalable ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from APIs, cloud systems, and external sources. Optimize and maintain Snowflake data models to support analytics, reporting, and Power BI. Partner with analytics and product teams to deliver trusted, high‑performance datasets. Automate ingestion, transformation, and deployment with CI/CD and DevOps best practices. Contribute to data governance, cataloging, and quality frameworks as we scale globally. Mentor junior team members and help define best practices across the data function. What you’ll bring 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or a related field. Advanced Python skills, including API integrations and automation. Strong experience with Snowflake—schema design, performance tuning, and SQL optimization. Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and integration. Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data lifecycle management. Excellent SQL and problem‑solving skills. A collaborative approach and a passion for building reliable, scalable data systems. Nice to have Experience with dbt, Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, or data governance frameworks.
