Your Career Opportunity : The Offsite Compressor Technician (LP & HP) with Breathing Air Apparatus is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of Low-Pressure (LP) and High-Pressure (HP) air compressor systems, as well as specialized breathing air apparatus, at various client locations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of compressor systems, breathing air safety equipment, and the ability to work autonomously in diverse offsite environments. The technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that both compressors and breathing air systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. There will be a requirement for you to travel to customer sites within Sydney Metro area as well as the occasional out of Metro site visit as directed by your manager to assist the team with the coordination of servicing work. This team is led by an experienced Manager who is committed to ensuring you succeed in the role. This is a hands‑on position, and your duties include but are not limited to: Maintenance & Repair: Conduct thorough quality inspections and testing of Low Pressure Compressed Air Systems, High Pressure Breathing Aerial Systems and Breathing Air Apparatus, ensuring they meet the applicable safety standards required and the highest standards of quality and reliability. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, repairs (including emergency), system upgrades, testing and calibration as required on LP and HP compressed air systems, including storage cylinders and associated components as well as breathing air apparatus, ensuring all equipment maintain optimal performance and function efficiently and safely. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with compressor systems and breathing air equipment, addressing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults. Proactively identify and address potential issues before they become major problems, maintaining system integrity. Replace or repair defective parts in compressors and breathing apparatus, such as filters, valves, motors, and pressure regulators. Ensure breathing air quality meets regulatory standards by conducting purity tests and maintaining accurate records of results. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new compressor systems and breathing air apparatus, ensuring proper setup and functionality. Calibrate and adjust equipment to meet specific operational requirements and client needs. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with safety regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to company and client safety protocols. Maintain accurate service records and documentation for compressors and breathing air systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on service work, and offer recommendations for system improvements or preventive measures. Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely and efficient completion of all service tasks. About You : We are looking for the following skills and experience: A Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude. Compressor service experience is highly desirable. Preventative and breakdown maintenance experience. Attention to detail and excellent fault‑finding ability. A valid driver’s licence. Must be Citizen of Australia to be eligible for Defence Security Clearance. Must be willing to undergo a Federal Police Check before the start of employment. Company vehicle and mobile phone will be provided on this role. Adequate product service training will be provided.
