June 18, 2024Airswift is actively looking for RAM Engineer - Control Systems for our client who is both a proud West Australian company and a global green solutions business. Our Opportunity Title: RAM Engineer - Control Systems

Work location: Perth based (Redcliffe/Hazelmere)

Roster: 5/2 roster (Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, manage and develop RAM plans and requirements to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirementsConduct risk and RAM analysis for Control Systems from a controls hardware and software perspective in heavy haulage locomotives.Collaborate with Teams to implement RAMS activities, providing training and guidance.Facilitate hazard and operability analysis using tools like FMEA, DFMEA, and FTA.Collaborate with suppliers components and materials meet RAM standards.Conduct RAM prediction studies and define targets.Calculate RAM measures (e.g., MTBF, MTTR) for controls hardware and software.Manage RAM verification and validation for Control Systems' performance.Analyse test data to identify and recommend design improvements for improving RAM.Develop installation and maintenance strategies based on RAM analyses.Prepare RAM reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.Drive initiatives to optimize RAM performance and integrate best practices.Familiar with relevant industry standards and regulations . (e.g., AAR, EN50126, EN50128, EN50716, EN50129, and EN61508)Qualifications and skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Proven experience (5+ years) in RAM engineering, preferably in the rail transportation industry or heavy equipment manufacturing.Proficiency in RAM analysis techniques and tools on controls software and hardware. (e.g., FMEA, FMECA, Hazard and Operability analysis, reliability block diagrams, fault tree analysis).Strong understanding of control systems in heavy haulage locomotive applications.Experience with reliability testing methodologies and statistical analysis.Familiar with software and/or systems engineering, life cycle management and software systems development.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work in cross-functional teams.
