Technical Program Manager

Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Region Services organization to deliver large‑scale programs for mission‑critical cloud services. The TPM will lead cross‑functional technical and program teams through design, requirements, build, testing, assurance, and deployment, using judgment, negotiation, analysis, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with stakeholders and accelerate project delivery. Key Job Responsibilities Manage high‑profile programs across multiple supporting teams to deliver successful outcomes for customers and AWS. Anticipate bottlenecks, proactively seek solutions, provide escalation management, and inform trade‑off decisions that benefit the program. Earn trust through regular communication with senior management on program status and risks, synthesizing problems and solutions into a clear, consumable format while influencing over authority to drive deliverables. Own the metrics for project success and define, measure and report on these metrics—collecting data, performing analytics, and creating dashboards to guide improvements. Show ownership to improve safety, security, and availability of operations. Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance. Day in the Life Technical Program Managers look around corners to identify risks early and act quickly. They balance ownership with holding partner teams to high standards, leveraging technical and project expertise to dive deep into issues, develop mitigations, and manage stakeholders. A TPM is responsible for setting roadmaps, schedules, and strategies, driving progress, and holding the bar on quality. About The Team AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations across core AWS services such as S3, EC2, and new feature releases. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services, including specialized security solutions. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of technical product or program management experience. 5+ years of project management disciplines covering scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path. Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of direct experience working with engineering teams. 2+ years of software development experience. Experience developing and executing product and technical roadmaps.
