Speech Pathologist - Transitional Aged Care Program Hunter New England Local Health District – Taree NSW Shape a brand-new Speech Pathology service and help older adults regain independence, right on the banks of the Manning River. Remuneration: $58.95 - $60.86 per hour + super Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until June 2026 Position Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 3 Location: Taree Community Health Service Hours Per Week: 16 Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: Thursday, 18th December 2025 About The Role We’re looking for a passionate and skilled clinician to join our team in a Temporary Part-Time role (16 hours/week) until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension. You’ll become a valued member of our dynamic, high-performing Transitional Aged Care team, working in a beautiful riverside location alongside the mighty Manning River in Taree, supporting clients across the Lower Mid North Coast region of Hunter New England Health. In this role, you’ll play a key part in assessing clients and supporting them to achieve their goals. You’ll receive comprehensive onsite training to help you confidently meet the demands of the role, along with strong support from a multidisciplinary team including Registered and Enrolled Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Dietitian and Domestic Support staff. You’ll also be well supported by the TACP Care Coordinator, NUM for SAS & TACP, the Aged Care Service Manager, the Psychogeriatric team, Aged Care Allied Health, and our dedicated administrative staff. About Us Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) is a short term (up to 12 weeks) Commonwealth funded aged care service for older people leaving hospital who would usually be eligible for ongoing care in a residential aged care facility but who have the potential to improve their physical, cognitive or emotional function and wish to try and remain in their home. About You In this role, you’ll bring a new and highly sought-after Speech Pathology service to the team, quickly becoming an integral part of our multidisciplinary care. The successful applicant will be a motivated clinician who can take initiative when needed whilst out in the community. You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, have the ability to consult with a multi-disciplinary team, and be able to work effectively as part of a dynamic team. Requirements Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Current unrestricted driver’s license and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
