Student Wellbeing Officer

The Student Wellbeing Officer (SWO) is a key member of our school’s wellbeing and student support team. This role focuses on supporting the social, emotional, and overall wellbeing needs of young people in a trauma‑informed, inclusive, and strengths‑based way. The SWO will work in partnership with staff, families, and community agencies to help students build resilience, develop pro‑social skills, and engage positively with their learning and school community. This is a dynamic, student‑facing role suited to someone passionate about supporting young people in alternative education settings. Key Responsibilities Student Support – providing check‑ins and guidance so that students can return to learning Wellbeing programs – organising and implementing a variety of wellbeing initiatives Community partnerships – establishing and maintaining relationships with local agencies, youth services and external providers Collaboration and administration – working closely with staff teams to share relevant student information and monitoring attendance and wellbeing data records. We are seeking someone who: Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, social work, or a related field. Can build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and external partners. Is confident facilitating groups and supporting young people one‑on‑one. Demonstrates trauma‑informed practice, cultural awareness, and inclusive approaches. Is organised, proactive, and collaborative as part of a multidisciplinary team. Understands and follows NSW child protection policies, legislation, and reporting requirements. Desirable Qualifications / Experience Relevant qualifications in youth work, community services, social sciences, or related field (or working towards). Experience working with adolescents in educational or community settings. Knowledge of local youth, health, and community services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
