Welding Inspector

Century Engineering is looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Control Welding Inspector for an immediate start to join our team on either Day (7:00am - 3:06pm) or Afternoon shift (3:00pm - 11:06pm). What You’ll Do: Perform Quality Inspections – Ensure welds meet AS/NZS 1554, ASME, and ISO standards. Work Closely with Fabricators & Welders – Inspect components right off the production line. Verify Specifications – Ensure joint preparations, fit-ups, and weld sizes match engineering drawings. Dimensional Inspections – Check tolerances and document modifications. Support Continuous Improvement – Reduce rework and enhance quality processes. Maintain Compliance & Documentation – Assist with reports, sign-offs, and audit readiness. What You’ll Bring: IWI (B) Certification or equivalent welding inspection qualification. 1-4 years of experience in welding inspection or quality control. Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 1554, ASME IX, and ISO welding codes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols. Background in fabrication (Certificate III in Fabrication Trade preferred). Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (required for defence projects). Preferred: Experience in heavy engineering, manufacturing, or structural steel industries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio for reporting.
